In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, railroad companies built lines and promoted visits to U.S. National Parks in order to increase passenger traffic. Specific parts of the transportation network were constructed to bring tourists to natural destinations like Yellowstone. Today, with an established transportation network in place, we can just as easily create destinations like the wonderfully manufactured Las Vegas Strip.

“Vegas…where hundreds are like twenties, and twenties are like fives.”
